Start in Colac
Colac is a great town for ‘op shopping’. Most stores are open till 4pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays.
Begin in Colac with breakfast at Fusion Restaurant. You’ll need your energy for your day of treasure hunting!
As you head up Murray Street, stop at Jo’s Pantry for your organic bulk food supplies. Pick up a packet of locally blended tea, or coffee roasted in Apollo Bay. Pasta from the Otway Pasta Company is available here.
Walk up the hill and your first Opportunity store is the Red Cross store.
Make your way across the park and visit Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul) at 41 Dennis Street. From there head to the Murray Street Market (open 7 days) 249/251 Murray Street. Here you’ll find plenty to tempt you; children’s clothes, crafts, vintage items, bric a brac and old records.
Lifeline Op-shop is at 29 Muray Street. The Salvation Army store is at 35 Corangamite Street. This large store is a great source for women’s clothes and household items.
Leaving Colac, travel about 20 minutes to the small town of Birregurra and wander through the little shops on Main Street. You’ll find gifts, patchwork fabrics, antiques, candles, clothes and lots more.
Enjoy a delicious burger at the Birregurra General Store or a gluten free Panini sandwich at Otway Artisan Gluten Free.
Last vintage stop is the newly opened Birregurra Emporium. This store is every vintage lovers dream find. Pick up a beautiful vintage ice bucket, vintage books or a gorgeous lamp.
