Foodies and Adventure Seekers – Forrest & Surrounds

In the heart of the Otways, you’ll find the small village of Forrest. Here you’ll find outdoor adventures such as wonderful waterfall walks, wildlife spotting, mountain biking as well as excellent opportunities to sample local produce at a number of local foodie attractions.

Accommodation at The Forrest Guesthouse is available in beautifully restored, self-contained suites right in the heart of Forrest. Stationed between the two mountain bike trailheads, you’re in a prime riding location and there’s even a bike hire shop onsite for hire and repairs. Stop in at Forrest MTB Hire for all the local tips.

If you love an adrenalin rush, then zip line through the trees at Trees Adventure in Yeodene, 15 minutes North of Forrest.

The Forrest General Store is your perfect stop to stock up on walking snacks and drinks for a day of adventure. Make sure you nab a slice or one of the delicious cakes made in the store. The store-made pies and sausage rolls are worth driving miles for!

Put your walking shoes on and explore Lake Elizabeth. Walk to the lake at your own pace. A return trip will take around an hour, a circuit round the lake will add many more hours.

An afternoon walk to Stevenson’s Falls is easy going after the morning excursion to the lake.  AND it’s dog friendly too!

Finish up your action packed day at the Forrest Brewery open Friday to Monday, with dinner available on Friday and Saturday nights. Sample beers on a paddle and enjoy a hearty meal from the seasonal menu.
